NEWSLETTER #80 Ah yes, the Buffalo Wing. Upstate New York's culinary contribution to the world. Thank God someone discovered that while useless as flying aids, chicken wings are mighty tasty when covered in sauce and fried or broiled. Plus, we got to laugh at Jessica Simpson as she searched bison for tasty morsels to dip in blue cheese! But, there is another reason to celebrate the mighty Buffalo Wing! That's because everyone's favorite polka band (I mean ROCK band; we're not playing Iowa dammit!) Wonderground will be laying down that mean accordian (guitar) sound while patrons down wings at BW3 in Shockoe Slip this Saturday night, July 24th. Let's say around 9pm, shall we? So, not only can you hear some great music, but you can fry your overworked taste buds with some hot wings (try the Carribean Jerk sauce; it's awesome!). For those of you who are directionally challenged, or never get out of the house since the baby came (Shane?), BW3 is located at 1501 E. Cary St., before you get to Bottom's Up and the Canal Club. Paul has promised not to cut himself before this gig, Bill has finally recovered from his trip to Mecca (Iowa), although he still keeps mentioning something about praising the corn God, and Jamey's just waiting for someone to give him an excuse to head to OBX. So, see us soon before Laura's bun timer goes off and Brent has to learn to change a "nappy". Later. 7/22/2004 |
