NEWSLETTER #75 NEWS FLASH! Wonderground bassist Bill "Wyman" Huebner has filed for an annulment of his recent marriage to Britany Spears. Having "got hitched" over the past weekend during a wild weekend in Clinton, IA, Mr. Huebner filed a petition in Amelia County Court to annul his marriage to Ms. Spears on the grounds that "I thought her boobs were real! Plus, she lip-synched her vows!" Due to Mr. Huebner's shattered state of mind, the Richmond-based rock band has shortened their world tour in order to "allow Mr. Huebner a complete recovery", according to his publicist, Jeff Nunnally. "Besides, I want to get me some of that Britany action myself!". No comment from Ms. Spears camp that she is now dating both Madonna and Dennis Rodman. Thus, Wonderground's remaining concerts on their tour will be Saturday, Jan. 24th at SinE Irish Pub (FREE!, 9pm), and February 7th at Awful Arthur's West End House of Fish and Fun (w/ Break for Winslow, formerly Judes Ferry). Guitarist Paul "Pops" Devitt said in the Short Pump Times "I think we're all looking forward to a break. I mean, how many times can we say we don't know how to play 'Freebird'? Drummer Jamey (Jaime) Morris was shocked to find out that Wonderground even had any gigs scheduled at all. Reportedly,Wonderground will use the time off to finish their sophomore (2nd year for you UVa grads) album, "Mind the Gap", the follow-up to their highly successful debut "Order of the Mushroom" (available at Plan 9 records and at shows...get one while they last!). Lead singer Brent "Bulldog" Lesher has indicated that this album should become the best selling coaster of all time, and is a mixture of Kentucky Bluegrass, Scottish bagpipes, and hip hop, described as "blue-bag hop". See ya there. 1/23/2004 |
