NEWSLETTER #106

C’est fini. Over, past tense, complete. Stick a fork in us, we’re done.

Yes, it’s the end of an era (if an era only lasts 7 years), but all good things come to an end, and hopefully, we’ll be considered a “good thing”. The band collectively known as Wonderground, Nine Lives, Sidewalk Abrasion, and amorous light-red reptile has decided to “pursue other interests”. At least that’s what our lawyers told us.

Even fine wine must be drunk eventually, (and, we were drunk on MANY occasions). Blame it on the kids, wives, work, El Nino, Brent turning 40, whatever, but the truth is we only thought we’d get some free beer out of the gig originally. Never thought we’d record an album, road trip, play Innsbrook, or even get paid. So, all in all, it’s been more than we ever could have imagined.

We’re not big on sentimental crap, so there won’t be a long, drawn out tour (frankly, we’re too tired these days). Just one final blow out. More details to follow in the coming month; just be at SinE Irish Pub by 7pm on Friday February 16th. There will be a multitude of special guests as we raise money for the Chris Williams Scholarship fund. Check out our website (www.wonderground.net) for details, and OF COURSE there will be more emails between now and W-Day (Wonderground Day…we’re petitioning the governor as we speak). Why so early? Cause most of you aren’t allowed to drive after dark, and cause there will be hoards of crying fans making makeshift memorials outside. It will be beautiful, man!
